Hospitality brand support
Merrie England
Branding, social media, photography, menus and poster design for a busy West Yorkshire food and coffee brand.
Stand-out client project
A joined-up design partnership across brand, food, print and day-to-day campaigns.
Merrie England is the sort of client where the work has to cover a lot of ground. The brand needs to look right in the shop window, on a menu board, in a social post, across food photography, and on printed promotions that people see while they are choosing what to buy.
Our role has been to keep that whole visual system consistent: logo artwork, Express sub-brand assets, menu design, food photography, poster design, gift vouchers, loyalty cards, email signatures and campaign graphics. It is a good example of how graphic design, photography and brand support work best when they are handled together.
Branding
Logo artwork, sub-brand assets and the everyday pieces that hold the brand together.
The work is not just one logo dropped onto everything. Merrie England needs a core brand, an Express version, product and quality cues, plus practical customer-facing pieces that can be used in shops and on-screen.
Practical brand rollout
Alongside the logo work, the brand needed real-world support pieces: gift vouchers, loyalty cards and email signatures. These are the details that make a local business feel established and properly looked after.
Each item keeps the same red, gold and white language, with enough flexibility for shop-specific details, seasonal use and promotional messaging.
Menus
Menu screens, table graphics and product-led displays built to sell quickly.
Food and coffee menus have to be clear before they are clever. This work focuses on legibility, offer hierarchy and fast decision-making, while still feeling unmistakably Merrie England.
Photography
Food, shopfront and interior photography with enough range for menus, posters and social media.
Strong hospitality design depends on proper images. Merrie England needs clean product shots for digital menus and offers, but also real shop photography that gives the brand warmth and context.
Poster design
Promotional posters and POS artwork that carry the brand into shops, events and offers.
Posters for Merrie England cover everything from seasonal food offers to local event nights and shop promotions. The work needs to be readable at a glance, strong enough to stop people, and practical enough to print or adapt for social media.
Project note
One client, a lot of touchpoints, and a brand that needs to stay recognisable everywhere.
Merrie England shows the value of keeping brand design, food photography, menu graphics, poster design and social artwork connected. The result is a deeper body of work than a single campaign, with each piece supporting the next.
